Privacy and disclaimer

AnyScholar is an educational experience. The professors are AI portrayals of historical figures, grounded in their own writings. They are not the real people, and they are not endorsed by or affiliated with any person, estate, or company.

Accuracy

Lectures are written from primary sources, but the professors also improvise with AI and can be wrong. Treat what they say as a starting point for learning, not as professional or academic advice, and verify anything you rely on.

What we store

• If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, and profile photo, used to save your progress.
• Your progress in each lecture (stars, notebook cards, and a short recent conversation) so you can continue later.
• An activity log of what happens in class (the questions you ask or say, the professor's replies, choices, labs, and stars), used to improve the lessons and keep the service safe. Guest activity is linked to a random browser id, not to your identity.
• Voice: when you hold the talk button, that recording is sent to our speech service to turn it into text. We keep the text, not the recording.

Who processes it

We use Google Cloud (Firebase and Firestore) to store data, Google's Gemini models for the professor's replies, voice, and speech-to-text, and Vercel to host the site.

Your choices

You can reset a lecture from Settings, sign out at any time, and play as a guest without an account. To delete your account data, contact the builder via LinkedIn (linked below).
